Our project includes offices for the Department of Homeland Security which require certain regularly occupied spaces to be considered secure and as such can not have views to the outside. We have integrated some windows with translucent glazing to allow daylighting into the space but due to the explicit function and need for security there will not be any views for occupants. We are proposing to use the aforementioned office square footage as part of our 75% of occupied area for daylighting (Credit 8.1) but not part of the 90% of occupied area for view (Credit 8.2) due to functional requirements.
