Inquiry

Plug-Load Energy Savings The tenant, signing a 12 year lease for the entire 75,000 sq. ft. building, is using Flat Panel LCD Monitors (FPM) for all of the nearly 800 computers in the building. We calculate the plug -load energy savings to be at least 59% over use of CRTs (38 watts for FPM vs. 92 watts for CRT). Would this be acceptable as an Inovation credit? Credit EA 1 specifically mentions that application gor innovation credts for reducing non-regulated loads is encoursged. Such wholesale use of FPMs is innovative, especially for customer service call centers, which are usually very first cost conscious. This has also allowed us to downsize the HVAC system, use fewer circuits (less material)for the electrical distribution and down size the UPS and standby generator (less material, fuel consumption and pollution)
