Inquiry

This project will utilize a geothermal heating system to generate on-site renewable energy for space heating, domestic water heating, and snow melting. This is a direct use geothermal system which generates heating energy without use of heat pumps or electrical generating equipment. It is based on local geological conditions which provide source water at 192 deg F. After heat has been transferred to air and water heating equipment, the geothermal water will be reinjected into a separate aquifer, to maintain the resource. The LEED Rating System document states that the intent for this credit is "self-supply through renewable technologies to reduce environmental impacts associated with fossil fuel energy use." The stated requirements for three points are to "supply at least 20% of the building\'s total energy use
