Inquiry

We would like to accommodate alternative fuel vehicles in the design of a new downtown library. We originally intended to provide electric charging stations for five vehicles to comply with the credit requirements for a total parking count of 150. However, it has been brought to our attention that there may not be a large enough number of electric vehicles in the city to justify this approach. The library is a full block development with parking below grade so there are no acceptable locations to provide a fueling station with flammable materials. As an alternative, we would like to propose the following: 1. Provide electric charging stations for two vehicles. 2. Provide a free parking space for any alternative fuel vehicle. 3. Purchase two compressed natural gas vehicles to be a part of the library fleet (the fleet does not currently include any alternative fuel vehicles). The CNG vehicles can be refueled at the city fleet headquarters two blocks away. Would this proposal satisfy the intent and requirements of the credit?
