Founded in 2002, USGBC California (formerly USGBC-LA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and member-based organization whose mission is to transform California’s built environment into a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable region for all.

Training
Our trainings are designed to empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills needed to advance sustainability in the built environment, regardless of their role. See upcoming training. Some of the trainings we offer include:
- Extreme Heat Certification: Learn about climate-resilient options to make buildings more resilient and support California's goal of a carbon-neutral economy.
- Sustainability Fundamentals for Green Schools: Introduce K-12 students to sustainability for free with USGBC California Green Schools.
- Decarbonization and ESG Fundamentals: This certificate covers the principles of decarbonization and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, helping organizations to reduce their carbon footprint and meet ESG goals.
- Green Janitors Education: A program designed to train custodial staff in green cleaning practices and sustainability principles, promoting healthier buildings and reducing environmental impact.
- Sustainable Production for Entertainment: This course offers guidelines and best practices for reducing the environmental impact of entertainment productions.
