Hello world

Ana Leilani Ka'ahanui

Washington, DC

Aloha! Since I started at USGBC in 2003, I have had the pleasure of working
in various departments across the organization. I started in the Education
and Research department, managing LEED workshops and curriculum development.
Then I served on the Facilities team, supporting the operations and
maintenance of our office. For the last several years I have been on the
Marketing and Communications team. My current roles include managing
projects, curating our internal digital assets collection and serving as the
staff photographer. I also manage our public tour program and have led over
800 tours of our LEED Platinum headquarters!

Before USGBC, I graduated from Catholic University of America in Washington,
DC with a degree in Foreign Languages. I have worked as an event planner for
a government contractor, a community relations coordinator for Border Books &
Music, and as a resident staffer at Loyola University of Chicago’s Rome
Center in Italy for two academic years.

For extracurriculars, I am a member of Biophilic DC and the Innovation
Committee of the Washington Building Congress. In my spare time, I enjoy
photography, traveling, citizen science, nature activities and hanging out
with my husband and dog in Northern Virginia.

And in case you’re wondering, here is how you pronounce my name:
AH-nah Lay-LAH-nee Kah-AH-ha-noo-ee.
