Batya Metalitz
Technical Director, LEED

As Technical Director, LEED at the U.S. Green Building Council,
Batya Metalitz works on the technical revisions and maintenance of the LEED
rating system. In addition to managing the credit library portion of the
USGBC website, Batya also oversees the development of the LEED water
efficiency credits and the LEED Pilot Credit Library, a testing ground for
new credits in LEED.

After working in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Stratospheric
Protection Division, on the chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) phase out program, Batya
joined the USGBC in 2006 to work on the LEED for Homes Pilot Program. She
coordinated the consensus based approval process of the LEED for Homes
certification system and brought the
program from pilot to full launch in 2007.

In her free time, Batya teaches yoga and enjoys cooking and traveling.
