He currently hold a Senior Interior Designer/ Project Manager position with the award winning Vancouver, BC Interior Design firm Hager Design International Inc. which specializes in hospitality, retail and senior living design. Recently, he has been inducted into his alma mater, Algonquin College (Ottawa, Canada) to the Media and Design Hall of Fame
Since graduating in 1993 from the University of Western Ontario with degree in Geography (with special attention to Urban Physical Geography), Karl Travis has been interested with the term "sustainability" since it was coined by the Bruntland Commission in the late 1980's. Sustainability, green or eco design seem to be the catch-all phrase of the current generation and seems to be used liberally. He understands the need to specify products that are sourced locally, with recycled materials, energy efficient, durable and with proven sustainable harvesting or manufacturing.
It is our responsibility to provide a service which promotes a healthy, earth conscious environment and still provide beautiful, functional spaces.
