Marni Evans

Technical Customer Service

Wimberley, Texas

For the past 20 years, Marni’s been on a mission to inspire and connect
leaders to ignite their green building passion into sustainability action.
Her role with the LEED Customer Experience Team at USGBC allows her to work
directly with visionary architects, engineers, facilities managers and
building owners from around the world, whom are transforming the building
industry using LEED.

As a LEED Fellow and SITES AP on the Technical Customer Service Team at USGBC / GBCI,
Marni oversees SITES customer service and works globally with visionary
architects, engineers, facilities managers, developers, and owners to
transform the development industry using LEED, SITES, WELL and other cutting
edge development standards.

Trained as an architect - turned green development consultant and educator -
Marni was the past Director of SITES at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower
Center and Technical Committee member of the Living Building Challenge v1.0.

Her LEED project experience spans over 40 projects, in various roles, for
projects of all types and sizes. Past projects include Mexico City's iconic
LEED EBOM Gold Torre Mayor (in collaboration with Mexico City's Revitaliza
Consultores), GreenFab's LEED for Homes Platinum affordable modular home
series and Starbucks first LEED CI retail store (while employed at Paladino
and Company), to name just three.

Also while at Paladino, Marni supported the growth of the LEED Rating System
and USGBC, as one of the first ten LEED Reviewers in the US. She was also the
first LEED Reviewer on behalf of the Canada Green Building Council. At the
chapter level, Marni became the Washington State Director of the Cascadia
Green Building Council, based in Seattle, Washington, to roll out over 40
regional educational programs and launch two conferences, Engineering Green
and the Living Future UnConference (the first international conference
celebrating Living Buildings). Other past stints include Sustainability
Writer for the New York Times website and developing curriculum for
EcoRise Youth Innovations.

With a love of public speaking, Marni promotes LEED and green building as a
springboard for personal transformation - always pushing the edge, as we know
it. Check out her latest TEDx talk at
</p>

A graduate of the Montana State University – Bozeman School of Architecture
(M Arch and BA In Environmental Design), Marni also holds the Sustainable
Building Advisor Certificate, and became a LEED AP in 2003, a LEED Fellow in
2015 and a SITES AP in 2016.

For fun, Marni loves vegan cooking with fresh produce from the farmers
market, yoga, camping and bike riding, alongside voracious reading and
alt-country two-stepping in Austin, TX, the live music capital of the world.
