Michael Johnson

As Director of Sustainability, Michael Johnson provides direction and oversight to policies and initiatives related to corporate environmental and social responsibility. Michael recently joined 3Form after more than 12 years of running ReDirect Guide - a sustainability-specific promotional media company he founded in Portland, Oregon.

Michael earned his degree in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from University of California Davis, and has extensive experience in business development; project, staff, and company management; and sales and marketing. He developed his extensive understanding of sustainability issues by working with a large number of businesses, across a multitude of industries. Under his direct leadership, ReDirect Guide expanded from Oregon to open regional offices in Colorado and Utah, while earning a reputation as a pioneering green business leader.

Previous professional experiences in environmental emergency response and investigation, and in the green building industry also gave him a strong foundation to understand the potential impacts from chemicals of concerns on human and ecological health. With more than 17 years devoted to making positive environmental and social change, he firmly believes that meaningful results are best achieved through business, and that companies adhering to sustainability as a core principle will experience growing market advantage as consumers and stakeholders increasingly demand responsible practices.

Michael volunteers with sustainability-oriented non-profit organization to stay involved with grassroots level education and community engagement. In his other free time, he enjoys participating in and teaching telemark skiing, hiking, running, cycling, climbing, and other adventure sports.
