Michael Schumacher

Brownsville, WI

Mr. Schumacher has completed degrees in business and construction, while spending several years in the field as a journeyman carpenter. In 2009, he received the Natural Stone Scholarship Award from the Marble Institute of America.
Michael has served on several committees within the natural stone industry. He currently serves on the board of the Natural Stone Council while continuing to be an active contributor to many of the association’s initiatives. During the summer of 2011, Mr. Schumacher spent four weeks in Northern Italy touring various stone quarries, fabricators, and equipment manufacturers.
In 2013, Michael became the only recipient to ever be awarded both the Fondy Future 5 and Manitowoc Future 15 awards. He graduated from the Leadership Fond du Lac Program that same year.
After joining Michels Corporation in 2016, he was an integral part of getting their natural stone division NSC 373 Certified. This is the only certification recognized by both the USGBC and the LBCI. He and his team received three Gold Level certifications, and Michels became the first quarrier and fabricator in the state of Wisconsin to become NSC 373 Certified (the fifth company in the world).
As a Certified Speaker for the Natural Stone Institute, Michael speaks to and conducts trainings for contractors, architects, and other industry professionals nationwide. In addition to his roles in his organization and the natural stone industry, he is also an instructor for the Associated Builders & Contractors specializing in leadership training.
