Michelle Reott, LEED AP® BD+C, ID+C, O+M, has been solely responsible for
directing Earthly Ideas’ managerial, operational, and technical services
aspects since establishing the company in 1992 in Austin, Texas. In 2001,
Michelle relocated the business to its current location in Durango, Colorado
and earned designation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED® AP) –
one of the first 400 in the world.

As Earthly Ideas LLC’s sustainability leader, she has proven expertise in
implementing practical green building strategies in commercial,
institutional, and industrial projects with over 25 years of experience in
the design and construction industry. Using her well-honed project management
abilities, she leads teams in fulfilling sustainable design goals with
effective communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a conscientious
focus on problem solving. As a degreed engineer, Michelle excels in
organization, planning, and analysis and is flexible, proactive, and
resourceful in detail-critical situations. She has successfully assisted over
seven dozen sustainability projects/clients nationwide including twenty-four
that have achieved or are seeking LEED certification.

In addition to being a consultant, Michelle is also a seasoned presenter,
educator, and facilitator. Since 1995, she has delivered dozens of live
presentations and training sessions. She served as faculty in 2007 at the
Sustainable Design Institute of the Boston Architectural College. In 2012,
Michelle began offering live webinars and developing and producing recorded
ones for national green education companies. She became a LEEDuser guest
expert in 2013 providing her knowledge to the Materials and Resources
category forums.
