Rachel Michelin

Ms. Michelin joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2005. She plays an essential role
in structural investigations, condition assessments, façade examinations,
window replacement projects, and renovation projects. She also assists in
repair design of building material and building envelope problems, including
masonry, concrete, curtain walls, roofing and waterproofing repair and

Ms. Michelin is a LEED Accredited Professional and implements sustainable
design principles into the repair and renovation of existing buildings. She
is also a certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP)
and a Commissioning Authority with Building Enclosure Knowledge Requirements
(CxA+BE). An active member of the sustainable community, Rachel is a member
of the U.S. Green Building Council's Illinois chapter, participating in its
Limelight Planning Committee. She is a Green Building Leader for Thornton Tomasetti's
Chicago office, responsible for fielding internal questions related to the
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and to the
maintenance of LEED credentials, and she is a liaison between Thornton
Tomasetti's internal AIA 2010 Commitment team and AIA Chicago's 2030 Working
Group, advancing the goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 for the new
design and renovation of buildings.
