Robin Gruenfeld

New Orleans, LA

Robin Gruenfeld's passion for the intersection of health and environment emerged through coursework in toxicology and and host-pathogen interactions during her undergraduate career at UNO and UC Berkeley. This led her to earn a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences from LSUHSC-NO. Robin's program was augmented by experience in health policy and program development through her Mickey Leland Fellowship and her internship at the inception of the Best Babies Zone in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans. Her masters thesis explored the effect of Hollygrove's blight, air quality, and soil quality on maternal and child health.

As Special Projects Coordinator for Healthy Start New Orleans, Robin brings her characteristic leadership and warmth to her oversight of several programs, including Best Babies Zone.

In addition to her programmatic work, Robin maintains a practice as a Pilates instructor and wellness coach. She firmly believes that everybody deserves the best chance at life.
