Sarah Buente

In her role as Executive Communications Director, Sarah is responsible for
helping develop and implement an executive communications strategy designed
to enhance the organization's mission and brand in the market. Her work spans
strategic visioning, media and public relations, marketing and
communications, product development and creative design. She also helps
drive, develop and contribute to strategic plans for USGBC's marketing
initiatives and organizational offerings.

She previously held roles at USGBC as both a Marketing & Communications
Project Manager, where she served as a marketing product manager for several
organizational products and offerings, and as a Marketing Project
Coordinator, where she helped manage marketing and design projects from
conception to completion.

Prior to USGBC, Sarah served in the energy and environmental field in a
variety of roles: as the Special Assistant to the CEO of American Clean Skies
Foundation, a national clean energy think tank; as a Congressional Intern in
the U.S. House of Representatives for the Select Committee on Energy
Independence and Global Warming and as a Research Associate at a local
environmental law firm. Before joining the field, she worked in the theatre
industry at both the professional and collegiate level.

Sarah graduated cum laude in 2009 from Boston College with a B.A. in Theatre
and a minor in History.
