Shana Scheiber is a Senior Mechanical Engineer within Mead & Hunt’s architecture and building engineering team. She is responsible for leading building mechanical design activities including conceptional visioning, mechanical calculations, equipment layouts, controls, specification writing and construction coordination. She has a special interest in designing buildings with integrated IEQ features and low energy/carbon designs. She has experience with airports, healthcare, laboratories, manufacturing, and class-A commercial projects. She has a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states. She has over 23 years of mechanical engineering experience.

She loves that current global interest in indoor air quality and electrification/decarbonization have inspired public understanding in the role HVAC engineers have in preserving public health and our planet. Shana has contributed to or been LEED administrator for over 30 LEED projects, has been a member of the USGBC IEQ TAG since 2021 and has been a member of the LEED steering committee since 2023. She has served as the IEQ TAG vice chair since 2023. She has contributed to 4 WELL projects

Shana is a member of ASHRAE and was the first-place recipient in the 2021 and 2022 ASHRAE Technology Awards programs for her work on American Family Insurance’s Spark building (LEED Gold certified and designed to WELL building standards) and Exact Sciences’ clinical laboratory and production facility (LEED Gold certified). The ASHRAE Technology Awards program recognizes engineers for post occupancy success regarding effective energy management, cost effectiveness, maintainability, indoor air quality, occupant comfort, occupant satisfaction, and overall energy/carbon conservation.
