Troy Lindquist

  • LEED for Homes Green Rater

Troy Lindquist founded Alternative Energy Systems(AES) after nine years in the industry. With over 20 years of energy consulting and energy modeling experience along with 9 years of field HERS rating services Troy has been involved with both the design and the construction sides of the energy business. This has provided him with a well rounded knowledge of not only the energy modeling side of the equation, but the innate experience that comes from field verifying Energy Star and LEED projects. This allows him to thoroughly understand the various energy features specified for projects and how they relate to financial costs, constructability and the overall feasibility of energy efficiency initiatives.

His extensive knowledge of California’s Energy Code along with years of energy modeling using EnergyPro has lead his company to being the go-to firm when it comes to energy modeling for LEED, Energy Star, GreenPoint or any other program that uses California’s Title 24 as a baseline. Ellerbe Becket, Syska and Hennessy and TMAD Taylor & Gaines are but a few of the reputable companies that have invested their energy modeling needs with AES. His affiliation with the Davis Energy Group has lead him to many LEED projects being both the energy analyst and the LEED Green rater. Troy most recently has been providing energy auditing services (ASHRAE Level II) for residential homes, low income affordable housing projects, commercial and retail buildings along with providing detailed energy audit reports and energy retrofit recommendations for city agencies seeking rehabilitation funding from the Community Development Commission/Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles. All the audits performed identified all the appropriate energy conservation measures for a facility, and gave a financial analysis based on implementation costs, operating costs, and attainable savings. Troy also provides California Utility Allowance (CUAC) calculations for his clients.
