3024 Lake Shore Dr

3024 Lake Shore Dr.
Orlando, FL 32819

LEED Gold 2015

The almost one-acre property was designed as an “extension" of this beautiful “English Lake Manor House” inspired vernacular and features stone walls, statues, and English gardens.

This newly constructed residence, was inspired by the owners’ ancestry which dates back to 1699 in Bath, England, and their desire to build a LEED Gold home featuring the latest energy saving technologies available in America. The result is a showpiece lakefront Orlando residence that surprises visitors with the warmth of an Old World Estate throughout all its details, and dazzles with American engineering, energy efficiency, and sustainable design through its construction and systems.

The spacious 7,000-square-foot footprint of this residence was meticulously designed to suit the building site on a 168-acre lake minutes from downtown Orlando. There are three distinct structures: a main home, a 600-square-foot artist cottage, and a 600-square-foot screened boathouse which hovers over the lake, more than 40 feet from the shore. The main home design maximizes the stunning lake views from every room featuring energy efficient and impact resistant Hurd windows and doors. The main “Lake Room” showcases a 20’ tall casement window facade that bathes the room in filtered sunlight all day and provides 270 degree views of the lake.

LOGIX ICF construction (Insulated Concrete Forms) was chosen to create an energy-efficient building envelope that ensures the warm and humid Florida weather does not impact the comfortable living environment inside the home. Two stage, zoned Lennox XP21 A/C systems further optimize the use of energy throughout the home. Lennox I-Comfort thermostats make temperature management simple and efficient by control from the home or mobile device.

The owners’ selected LED lighting throughout the house and a Lutron Master Control system that has convenient touch pad controls. Lighting levels and timing, can be controlled in the home or remotely on a mobile device.

To take full advantage of the indoor/outdoor Florida lifestyle, the home features two large, covered screened porches with water views. The rear loggia includes an outdoor kitchen and overlooks a pool that at night is brilliantly lit by colored LED lighting, and becomes a seamless extension of the house thanks to a 16’ wall of sliding glass doors.
