The City of Orlando achieved the LEED Cities Gold certification for its citywide sustainability and resiliency efforts. With the launch of Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Green Works Orlando initiative in 2007, over the last decade the city has worked to become the most sustainable city in the southeast. The city’s efforts have resulted in the implementation of dozens of policies and programs designed to enhance environmental stewardship and set an example for other municipalities striving to operate in a sustainable manner.

“As a city we must lead by example. There is still much work to do and we are committed to showcasing how a modern city can protect our environment and our natural resources and still have a robust economy,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, January 13, 2020.
