Certification level: Platinum

Project info

Size2,595 sq ft

CM1 holds platinum certification under LEED for Homes v4 and is the first house in the world certified under IWBI’s new WELL for Residential program. A 3-bedroom family home in Miami’s Silver Bluff neighborhood, the fully concrete house offers 2,595 sq ft of sustainable and resilient features, together with a strong emphasis on homeowner health and well-being. CM1 contains no drywall, no AC ducts and no sealed cavities, eliminating the most common places for mold, pests and moisture. All plumbing in the home is accessible via removable wall panels for lifetime maintenance. Elevated 10 feet above ground, CM1 sits above the expected flood plain from 100 years of sea level rise. The ultra-durable all-natural finishes include only lime plaster, polished concrete, porcelain, and wood paneling. Excellent insulation means an 11.6 kW rooftop solar system is able to offset 85% of energy consumption.
