Building C26 is part of the development for the construction of offices in this area converted into an axis for the execution of sustainable projects in the city, due to its proximity to the international airport, residential areas and expanding trade. SUMAC was the consultant for the LEED Core & Shell certification, objective of the developers of the project and who obtained the "Certified" level. It was necessary to make a preliminary diagnosis for the design and construction stages and it was evident that the designs were aimed at opting for a LEED certified building. It was at this point that we had the opportunity to share the experience with the Salgado Restrepo Arquitectos team, designers of this office building, and the recommendations were presented to the general team of the project to increase efficiency and achieve the proposed sustainability objectives. Project location, its access and the complementary services surround the building were taken into account. Project installed showers and changing rooms in the basements for those occupants who use the bicycle as a means of transport to access their workplace, the building promotes the use of vehicles that do not adversely affect the environment by allocating a preferential parking space. Building C26 has highly efficient and low consumption plumbing fixtures that contribute to the saving of potable water. The installed electromechanical systems (lighting, electrical system, air conditioning system and mechanical ventilation) allowed to achieve savings of 16% in energy with respect to the baseline proposed by the ASHRAE 90.1 standard of 2007. For the selection and purchase of the materials, it was taken into account that their place of origin was less than 800 km away from the project and this allowed 55 percent of the materials installed to be regional materials. In terms of comfort, the building has air renewal in all its interior spaces which gives its occupants high standards of air quality and access to exterior views.
