In 2010, the management team at Expo 2000 Office Park committed to constructing only LEED-certified buildings. Following this commitment, Buildings 3 and 4 achieved LEED certification. With the introduction of the LEED v4.1 O&M scheme and the ARC SKORU platform by GBCI, the team decided to certify their existing buildings.
Under Phase 1, "Expo 2000 Building 1," completed in 2005 with 7,000 sqm of fully leased office space, was awarded LEED Gold certification for Operations and Maintenance in 2024. This certification process involved a comprehensive ASHRAE energy audit and digital analysis of energy, water, and waste. Operations and management practices were systematically improved throughout the assessment. The building is now also EU Taxonomy compatible.
This project demonstrates the viability of upgrading older buildings to meet contemporary sustainability standards. Expo 2000 Office Park will continue to pursue LEED certifications across all buildings, utilizing rigorous assessment methods to ensure environmental and operational excellence.
