We are proud and excited to announce that the first phase of the FM Logistic Illescas project has been granted a LEED GOLD® certification.
It is the first LEED® v4 certification for FM Group and the third LEED GOLD® certification in v4 for Warehouses and Distribution Centers in Spain.
The project's sustainability includes several aspects as per LEED® categories, from the transportation and land selection, through energy and water savings, to sustainable construction materials selection and employee comfort achieved by high interior air quality.
NG Concept implemented numerous green strategies on the project:
- Extremely efficient LED lighting and HVAC equipment supported partly by renewable energy sources reduce energy consumption costs by 56%.
- Construction materials selection has been conducted with a preference for local producers and highly sustainable quality products with low emitting finishings and materials disclosing information about resources origins and production process.
- Water-efficient landscaping assembled from local, non-invasive species ensures low water consumption for irrigation and biodiversity. A special selection of sanitary installations resulted in a 54% of potable water consumption reduction.
- The heat island effect is vastly reduced by white roofing membrane and light-hardened surfaces. The car parking, shaded partly with solar panels installation, includes unique places for electric car charging stations, low emitting vehicles, and carpools, shared by coworkers on their way to and from home.
This extraordinary score of LEED® certification confirms the high quality of construction work and caring approach to FM Logistic employees.
FM Logistic now has LEED® platforms in Spain, Vietnam, Russia, Poland, Romania, Italy, and India.
