Built in 1991, Gas Company Tower is a 52-story, class-A office skyscraper on Bunker Hill in downtown Los Angeles, California. Located on Fifth Street between Olive Street and Grand Avenue, across from the Biltmore Hotel, the building serves as the headquarters for the Southern California Gas Company. Its location offers convenient access to major hotels, shopping centers, entertainment venues and cultural attractions. Building occupants at Gas Company Tower had an 80.52 percent reduction in conventional commuting compared to the LEED baseline. The location of the building within walking distance to Grand Central Market and major transit hubs reduces the need for building occupants to travel by car for both meal breaks and the daily commute. The Gas Company Tower also boasts an Energy Star score of 92, thanks to a combination of high-efficiency fixtures and occupant-controlled lighting in office spaces.
