LEED Gold 2018

The Softtek Global Delivery Center located in Monterrey achieved the LEED® ID + C: Commercial Interiors v3 Gold level certification.
Softtek is a global provider of process-oriented Information Technology (IT) solutions with 30 offices located in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. They are pioneering leaders in sustainability, both nationally and globally. The project obtained 62 points in the LEED certification, driving them to look toward the certification of a second building in Mexico.
Key sustainability strategies:

  • In the interior spaces, a high efficiency glazing system was implemented, reducing the building's thermal gain, which means less heat, less investment in air conditioning, and less greenhouse gases.
  • The project has 100 percent of native and adapted plants and that decreases irrigation water and favor biodiversity.
  • The project managed to reduce the consumption of potable water in the building office by 46.65 percent by using efficient furniture. (Consumption gallons / per current year: 1,061,719.10; Consumption gallons / per average year: 1,990,209.00)
  • 95 percent of the equipment used in the offices are labeled Energy Star, which reduces the energy consumption of the project against traditional offices.
  • During the construction process, more than 90 percent of the waste generated was recycled and reused.
  • 20.82 percent of the materials used in the building have recycled content, which reduces the extraction of raw material.
  • 24.51 percent of the materials used in the offices are regional, which strengthens the local economy and lowers the carbon footprint of transport.
  • The building's sealants, paints and finishes have low volatile organic compounds (VOC's) that prevent health-related problems.
