Hathaway Brown

Hathaway Brown is an all girls school located near Cleveland, Ohio. The school’s building is a large 215,110 square foot existing building, with multiple building sections attached through additions and renovations. This project helped the Hathaway Brown faculty achieve one sustainability goal of certifying their building through LEED, but it also helped identify and benchmark many of their continuous sustainability goals through the process. The project included these main highlights that worked towards their specific sustainability and climate goals: ongoing tracking of energy performance and conversion to emissions, documenting commuter information for Scope 3 emissions, ongoing tracking of water consumption, completed an annual waste audit to understand diversion rates and improve education around waste receptacles, documenting and adjusting ventilation rates for all spaces, and measuring air quality, and setting several sustainable operational policies to continue improving performance.
