Indian Designs Unit at Denkanikottai, Hosur, Tamil Nadu has demonstrated global excellence and added to the growing list of Certified Green Buildings in the Coimbatore region. With one of the highest scores of 83 out of the available 100 points; Indian Designs Exports Pvt Ltd will stand among the regional trendsetters in incorporating sustainability related features in its factories.

Indian Designs Hosur unit has an in house coconut farm and animal shed, employing fully organic methods that prioritize drought resistance and minimal upkeep. The facility has effectively mitigated urban heat islands by maintaining over 50% of the area as verdant space. The irrigation demands of this eco-friendly landscape are met by an innovative automated system that recycles treated wastewater, ensuring efficient water use. Moreover, all cleaning operations are performed exclusively with eco-certified green cleaning products.

Indian Designs has a unique centralised waste management system encompassing comprehensive protocols for segregation, reuse, recycling, and upcycling such that waste from all its plants is processed centrally at its Bengaluru head-office to ensure 100% accountability. All organic waste is managed within their factory farms turning all garden and food refuse into nutrient-rich food for their farm animals.

The procurement strategies are meticulously crafted, placing the environmental impact of products at the forefront of our decision-making process. The factory uses a zero energy Bio-STP. BIO-STP essentially condenses the full power of nature within a tiny footprint while enhancing the aesthetics in the factory as shown in the image. The factory has retrofitted all taps using low flow aerators to bring water consumption well below 20 Lts/Person/Day

The facility has undergone a thorough ASHRAE Level 3 Energy Audit, pinpointing every opportunity for energy conservation. The installation of a 400KW On-Site Solar Energy system now supplies over 50% of the building’s energy needs, reflecting its commitment to renewable resources. The campus has implemented a substantial lighting and equipment overhaul, propelling the building into the top echelon of energy efficiency.
