Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Terminal is the new domestic terminal building of the International Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport.

The project is located in Gaziemir District of Izmir Province in Aegean Region of Turkey. The Project Site is situated at 18 km southwest of Izmir surrounded by Selçuk, (Ephesus), Salihli (Sardes), Bergama, (Pergammon) and Pamukkale (Hieropolis) historical sites.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Domestic Terminal Building is a built on the same location of the old domestic terminal building, which operated from 1987 to 2011. Although, It has undergone some modifications to satisfy the growth of passenger numbers, the old terminal was outdated and fell short of current international standards in time. The old terminal building was demolished in 2011 and 95% of the demolition waste was diverted from landfill.

The new Domestic Terminal is designed to have a total area 2,071,837 sq. ft. with eight passenger boarding bridges and planned to be connected with the International Terminal by a bridge system.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Terminal has employed various energy and water conservation measures which resulted in a reduction of 20% in energy cost and a reduction of 47% in potable water use compared to reference standards. 9,9 MW tri-generation system together with a high efficiency HVAC system, rainwater harvest, grey water reuse, 510 kW PV system, use of recycled and regional construction materials are some of the measures that contribute to reduce the project's environmental footprint.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Terminal is the first terminal in Turkey and the second in Europe to receive carbon accreditation by Airports Council International (ACI) Both domestic and international terminals have reached zero carbon footprint level at 2016 (ACI ,Neutrality level).

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport received the “Environmentalist Airport of the Year” award at the Doha Aviation Summit in 2009 and the “ACI Eco-Innovation Award” given for the first time by ACI Europe on 17 June 2010. (Due to various small incremental improvement projects, resulted by 5,1 mio kwh of effificent energy usage at International terminal).

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Terminal reports both its carbon footprint (from 2010 to 2016) and water footprint (from 2015 to 2016) to CDP Carbon Disclosure Project

TAV Ege Terminal Yatırım Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. (TAV-Ege), a subsidiary of TAV Havalimanları Holding A.Ş. (“TAV Airports Holding”), holds the operating rights of the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport Domestic and International Terminals until the year 2032.
