Liceum Wilanów High School is modern, spacious and inspiring. It is a combination of a unique academic program with a unique space for academic work, self-study and relaxation that will inspire, stimulate and give students the feeling of being in an important and unique place. The main aim was to increase environmental awareness among students. The goal was to create a place where students will gladly come back, hence the idea of designing a space to spend time between classes. Relaxing in the open air will enable a green patio ensuring that students will be able to spend most of their time outdoors during the warmer months.. The next element will be ecological garden on the roof of the school (over 1000 m2 of vegetation) , where you can grow herbs, vegetables and fruits. To achieve educational goals it has been created professional spaces for academic work for instance modern biology, chemistry and physics laboratories designed in collaboration with leading academic centers. Students who want to develop their artistic talents will have at their disposal an unique space for artistic activities and creative work: a multimedia studio, a music room with a recording studio, or an auditorium/theatre with seating for 300 people. Additionally in the building we can find a comfortable space for sport such as gymnasium with courts and other extensive sport facilities Building is in “U” shape where at the ground is a main hall, from which corridors distributing to other parts of the building are available and in close vicinity is an auditorium. In addition to the didactic rooms on the ground floor, a canteen and a gymnasium with a cloakroom team were executed. On the first floor of the building are other didactic rooms and workshops as well as an office part for school administration. Bicycle storage and changing rooms are provided, to reduce pollution and land development impacts from automobile use. Parking facilities and roadways for automobiles are made from impervious surfaces to increase stormwater runoff and minimize heat island effect. Materials and resources have been chosen to reduce the impact from extraction and processing of virgin materials and increase the amount of materials with recycled content. As one of the most architecturally inspiring schools on the educational map of Poland High School in Wilanów is the recognized and awarded building in several competitions for instance main prize in the Property Design 2018 competition– Interior category.
