LEED ID+C: Retail v3 - LEED 2009

Nike Factory Store San Luis Potosi

Av. Dr. Salvador Nava Martinez #3125
San Luis Potosi, SLP 78294

LEED Gold 2014

Nike at Mexico decided to implement LEED certification in the Nike Factory Store in San Luis Potosí. This initiative forms part of the overall ideology of Nike Better World initiatives, which is the company’s conscious effort to protect the environment while delivering the best products. This certification proves Nike's commitment to the environment, not only from the construction side of the stores but also in its operational form. All support and initiative from the team was true since the beginning, as they worked hard to get it.

The selection of the store location was fundamental, since they were looking for criteria favoring the LEED certification, such as standing near public transport and other services. This new store has different variables that the brand first introduced comprehensively, from savings in energy consumption, recycling, water consumption, and efficient use of regional materials, to open issues regarding the design, construction, material selection and management of the facility. All of these aspects were analyzed in order to work with a more sustainable environment. Nike Mexico continues to implement best practices for the next stores.
