A former industrial area, FreeMoreWest has been rapidly undergoing urban renewal and conversion. Savona Mill originally served as a textile mill and later a manufacturing facility. It is now envisioned as a hub for the neighborhood featuring creative office space, unique residential offerings, and complementary retail. The site will connect Stewart Creek Greenway, a 3.7-mile greenway that provides a direct link to Uptown and connects to a larger greenway network across the Charlotte metro area. In addition, the property is currently a brownfield site and this redevelopment brings new life to an environmentally challenged site.
