Supermaxi Parque Ingles

Last certified on:
Certification level: Silver

Project info

Size3,273 sq m

Supermaxi Parque Inglés obtained the LEED SILVER certification for new construction, incorporating strategies for relating to the environment, design and efficient systems that allow for greater energy efficiency, lower water consumption, lower impact on the environment and better comfort conditions for its users. .

Supermaxi Parque Inglés incorporates garden recovery strategies with native species to recover local fauna and the use of high reflectance materials to reduce the heat island effect and temperatures in the environment.  All the sanitary pieces installed in Supermaxi Parque Inglés are highly efficient pieces, to reduce water consumption by 30% in relation to a conventional supermarket.  The project also incorporated a waste water treatment plant which recovers all waste water for treatment, and reuses it for restroom flush fixtures within the project, further reducing potable water consumption to 80%, while eliminating waste water discharge to the municipal systems.

Supermaxi Parque Inglés achieves a 20% reduction in energy consumption compared to a similar building thanks to all the efficient strategies and systems that were part of the project.  Through the use of thermally insulated Kalwall diffusing skylights and Solatube solar refraction and lighting tubes, the project manages to make maximum use of natural lighting. Advanced high-performance LED lighting systems, combined with natural contribution measurement controls, dim the lights inside the premises to reduce consumption, maintaining optimal conditions at all times.

The air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems are the most efficient systems available, with refrigerant use control and indoor air injection verification to maintain the best thermal conditions inside the premises, achieving energy efficiency.

Supermaxi Parque Inglés was designed to achieve the best conditions of thermal and visual comfort for users, guaranteeing comfortable temperatures and adequate air renewal to keep the building and its occupants healthy.

The mechanical ventilation and air conditioning of Supermaxi Parque Inglés allowed for a complete cleaning and air renewal of the premises prior to its occupation, to eliminate contaminants and operate every day to maintain ideal conditions inside the premises.
