tkE Innovation and Qualification Center

TK Elevator made a commitment very early in the process to pursue LEED certification for the Innovation and Qualification Center, despite challenges inherent with an elevator test tower. With such an industrial energy load and many of the typical office space credits unavailable, most elevator test towers have likely never considered pursuing this level of environmental recognition. But with a strong focus on reducing embodied carbon emissions and energy consumption while creating the healthiest building possible, the path to LEED Gold was there for TK Elevator. It just required closely evaluating all aspects of the construction and design process.
