USGBC/GC3 Workshop on Advancing Safer Materials in the Building Products Sector - Speaker and Keynote Presentations - 5/28/2014 Maplewood, MN

The U.S. Green Building Council, the Minnesota Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council held a discussion-based workshop on Advancing Safer Materials in the Building Products Sector: Challenges and Opportunities. The goals of the workshop were : - to understand current drivers and examples of advancing safer materials in the building products sector; - to engage in dialogue about barriers, enablers, and needs for safer chemicals and materials in the building products sector; - and to discuss the opportunities for bio-based materials to replace materials of concern in the building products sector and challenges/concerns in adoption of such materials. Short talks and panel presentations framed the discussions. This workshop was of interest to architects, building product and materials manufacturers, and building owners.
